Aubrey Plaza is hilarious. This is a known fact. It doesn't matter where she's starring in a film or on "Parks and Recreation" or just doing an interview with MTV for Sneak Peek Week, she's always on her A-game. That's why the interview she did following a Sneak Peek Week presentation of her new movie "The To-Do List" is such a pleasure to watch: it's hysterical.
Of course, there were also plenty of good topics to discuss -- namely the fact Plaza has to masturbate on camera for the movie. "I'd say it's an okay day. It's a medium day. It was okay," she said of having to film a scene like that. "When I'm doing things like that I go into a magical forest in my mind. It's almost like no one's there anyways, and those days are the best days ever, so 'I'm crazy' is my answer."
When her costar Scott Porter tried to salvage the situation by saying that day of filming was a "safe set," she quipped, "They request everyone to stay, because I like many... suitors... watching."
As for which scene Plaza couldn't stop laughing during, she said it was the one where her character is "dry-humping Christopher Mintz-Plasse on his grandmother's rug."
"That was a hard one for me on many levels," she said, not realizing her inappropriate pun until after she said it. "[That scene] was funny. It was really funny. He's really funny, and I just felt like I was raping him the whole time -- taking advantage of him, better choice of words -- it was funny to me."
Though there's lots of sex and raunchiness discussed in "The To-Do List," the movie at its heart is about female relationships. Plaza, who has two sisters, gave some words of wisdom to the other women in the world.
"We're going to outlive them all, the men in the world, so women must stick together and we must not let the men interfere," she said. "We must use them for their things and then... I don't know. Sorry. I started out really strong with that one."
"The To-Do List" comes out in theaters on August 16.
