Right now it can feel as if natural disasters are happening everywhere. On Wednesday a large earthquake (7.4 magnitude, to be precise) hit Guatemala, and Maroon 5's Adam Levine wants you to help.

Guys, let's help raise funds for the @redcross for those in need in the #Guatemala #earthquake bit.ly/HelpGuatemala

CNN reports that at least 48 died as a result of the massive quake, and some other news outlets put the number at 52. This is definitely the biggest earthquake the country has experienced in 36 years, and it destroyed many buildings, including homes and schools. (Thankfully school was out, so the kids weren't hurt there.) About 60,000 people are still living without power.
The Red Cross explains, "The Guatemalan Red Cross has declared a red alert following the country's most powerful quake in more than three decades and has begun damage assessments in the affected areas of Guatemala City and San Marcos. In neighboring Mexico, where shaking was also felt, the government issued a precautionary tsunami warning."
Adam's link explains more of what the Red Cross is doing, and also asks for donations. We know we've been asking you a lot lately to donate to the Red Cross for Sandy relief, but this is also a drastic situation where help is needed. As time goes by there will be more ways to help, though for now donating to the Red Cross is the best thing to do. Adam's on it, so do you think you might be able to help with this cause? Even small donations, when added together, can make a diff. Like Adam says, let's help those in need!
