The onslaught of Hurricane Sandy so close to November 6 had many people wondering if Election Day would be bumped to a later date, but that is not happening. People in the affected areas have different options for how they can vote.

New Jersey announced on Saturday that it would allow electronic voting for people displaced by Sandy. The state's website explains, "To vote electronically, displaced voters may submit a mail-in ballot application either by e-mail or fax to their county clerk. Once an application is approved, the clerk will electronically send a ballot to the voter by either fax or e-mail in accordance to the voter's preference."

In many places, including New York City, the location of some poll sites have been altered. The idea is to have people at the old polling places who will direct you to where you should go. There are also many sites online that tell you where to vote if you plug in your address.

Some places are difficult to navigate, but there will also be carpools set up to help get people to the right polling sites. Rock the Vote explained on Twitter:

Check it out and see if you might be able to catch a ride with them! If you're also in a place that allows early voting, you might want to take advantage of that. There is concern that not as many people as usual will be able to vote in this election, and that's why we have electronic voting and rides set up to help.
