We're lucky enough to have a wonderful new Bond theme song for "Skyfall," compliments of Adele, but as we look back on the series and its themes, we can't help but notice that some of the best songs have been from other movies and some TV shows.
As we kick off a week of some serious "Skyfall" coverage on all things Bond, we thought we'd take a look at some of the best fake James Bond theme songs.
Check out our list after the jump!
"Brian Song" from "Monty Python's Life of Brian"
The opening credits from this Python classic also includes animation from Terry Gilliam.
"Dr. Evil" from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me"
They Might Be Giants laid down this track for the second Mike Myers Bond parody that lovingly riffed on the Shirley Bassey themes.
"Spy Hard" from "Spy Hard"
The opening credits from the Leslie Nielsen spoof feature Weird Al Yankovich doing a damn fine job...until his head explodes.
"Scorpio's Theme" from "The Simpsons"
Instead of warning about the dangers of Hank Scorpio, this song from the closing credits listed the perks of working for him.
"McBane's Theme" from "The Simpsons"
You'll have to wait until the end to hear the small snippet of a parody song, but seeing the uncut McBane film makes the wait hilariously bearable.
"Snake Eater" from "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater"
When Hideo Kojima went back in time for the third iteration of his stealth espionage series, he gave it a Bond theme to go with.
"For British Eyes Only" from "Arrested Development"
During the third season of "Arrested Development," Michael ran into some trouble with the British (or thought he did), and this menacing song played throughout.
"Mr. F" from "Arrested Development"
Whether it stands for Mr. Fünke or mentally retarded female, the code-name "Mr. F" will always strike fear in our hearts.
