Hurricane Sandy did major damage to the East Coast, and New Jersey took some of the worst of it. That's why we'll have the "Restore the Shore" special airing soon, and members of "Jersey Shore" are already volunteering their time and goods.
"Restore the Shore" is a one-hour special that will air live on November 15. You can watch it on TV, as well as online and on your smartphone, because we want to make sure as many people as possible are able to tune in. MTV has hooked up with Seaside Heights and Architecture for Humanity, which does construction after natural disasters like Sandy. Together, the three will be raising funds in order to give aid to the East Coast, especially Seaside Heights. They want to help rebuild Seaside Heights' famed boardwalk as well as businesses and homes.
The cast of "Jersey Shore" will be taking part in the special (as well as other celebs), but they're not waiting until then to help out as you can see below!
Here's Snooki on "Good Morning America," helping out with ABC's "Day Of Giving" fundraiser where she worked the phone bank and helped raise over $9 million dollars!
Snooki also showed us a pic of clothes, blankets and yup, Snooki slippers that she donated for victims:
Vinny has been helping with cleanup, so he showed us a picture of himself and fellow volunteers:
Deena also got involved in volunteer work (and texting, of course!):
PaulyD (dressed up as PSY) DJ'ed this morning on "LIVE! with Kelly and Michael" during a Halloween Hurricane Telethon.
If you want to get a glimpse of what's happened, Sammi gave us a short video of some of the destruction.
Remember to tune in on November 15. In the meantime, you can help by donating money to the Red Cross. You can text "REDCROSS" to 90999 and donate $10 to the Disaster Relief Fund. It won't happen overnight, but together we can restore the shore!
