There are plenty of ways to help with Hurricane Sandy disaster relief -- for everyone concerned about the animals affected by the storm, there are def ways you can help our furry friends. Animal lovers, take a look!

+ Donate to the ASPCA

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is taking donations so they can rescue, shelter, feed and take care of pets who are suffering because of Sandy. You can donate on their website or by calling 1-800-628-0028. PetSmart Charities has also hooked up with the ASPCA and you can donate to them on their website or call 1-800-423-PETS.

+ Text Donations to The Humane Society

You already know about texting to donate to the Red Cross, but did you know you can also text and donate $10 specifically to help animals impacted by Sandy? Just text ANIMALS to 20222 and $10 will go to The Humane Society, the country's biggest animal protection org.

+ Report Lost and Found Pets

If you are in the area hit by Sandy and have either lost a pet or found one, the go-to place is the Facebook page "Hurricane Sandy Lost and Found Pets." Put up pictures of pets you've found or pets you've lost, and good luck!

+ Donate Supplies to Shelters

Petfinder is keeping up-to-date on supplies that various shelters need. Maybe you can't afford to give money, but you can give old blankets or used pet supplies. Many places would also be appreciative of dog and cat food. Check out what different shelters are asking for and see if you have something that would help.

+ Call For Help

If you see a pet that seems to have been abandoned and needs to be rescued, or if you're unable to get your own pet to safety, call the ASPCA at (347) 573-1561. You can call any time of the day or night to talk to someone directly. By calling this number, you'll also know that the pet will be in good hands!
