Miley Cyrus kicked back in shades and went barefoot on Tuesday, showing her support for the TOMS One Day Without Shoes movement. Tweeting with the hashtag #withoutshoes, Gale Hawthorne's GF posted a pic of herself shoeless, and asked her followers to do the same.

As we reported on Tuesday, TOMS celebrated its fifth annual barefoot crusade to cultivate awareness about the millions of people who endure disease and injury, as a result of not having adequate footwear. For many kids in the developing world, shoes mean survival, as they must walk miles to get to school and to get clean water.
Not only do shoes give kids in need a better chance at being healthy, shoes can give children a sense of pride. In 2009, TOMS Giving Partner, Partners in Health, gave away shoes in Haiti, Malawi, Rwanda, and Lesotho, and shared how happy 13-year-old Alfred was when he received his first pair.
You can help foster health, happiness, and self-esteem in kids like Alfred by joining Hannah Montana Miley and supporting TOMS. Don't worry if you didn't walk around barefoot on Tuesday. There are a number of ways to give back the TOMS way, every day -- check out the action items below!
