"Avril" means "April" in French, so is it any coincidence that Avril Lavigne is spending this April helping out a charity cause? Safeway is getting its yearly Support for People with Disabilities fundraising campaign in high gear, and money earned goes to the Special Olympics, Easter Seals and other cool places.
But Safeway isn't doing it alone. It's partnered up with the "What the Hell" singer and her own Avril Lavigne Foundation, and that means a cool new edge to this year's campaign. If you're shopping at a Vons, Safeway (of course), Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Carrs, Randalls of Dominick's, keep your little eyes peeled for any signs that say "Behind the Scenes with Avril Lavigne." You can get a tear card from there and donate five bucks at the checkout.
Your money will go to help people with disabilities, and it will also get you a coupon and a code to watch exclusive Avril videos, like a new acoustic version of one of her songs and behind-the-scenes clips. More deets are in the video below.
So if you shop at one of these stores, you have until April 30 to take part. You get to help people and watch some extra Avril. In the words of Ms. Lavigne, "What more can I say?"
