If there's one thing you can take away from the trailer for "2 Guns," it's that Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington have amazing chemistry. The adaptation of the Boom Studios comic book of the same name teams the two actors up as an undercover DEA agent and Navy Intelligence officer who are both betrayed by their organizations and forced to work together to figure out why.
But, as can be seen in the trailer below the jump, "together" is a touchy word. At least Wahlberg and Washington work better alongside each other than their characters Marcus Stigman and Bobby Trench do, as their hilarious back-and-forth is the main element of the trailer that keeps it worth watching. It seems like this movie is going to be worth seeing for these two alone, despite having a strong supporting cast.
"Battlestar Galactica" star Edward James Olmos plays the film's villain, though he doesn't get much screentime in the trailer. He is the leader of the Mexican cartel it seems Stigman and Trench have stolen from, though our guess is there are a couple twists and turns on that plotline farther down the road.
Also in "2 Guns" are James Marsden, Paula Patton, Fred Ward and Bill Paxton. The movie is based on the comic book written by Steven Grant and illustrated by Mat Santolouco. Baltasar Kormakur directed the film, which is due out on August 2, 2013.
