April is Autism Awareness Month, and it's getting kicked off today with World Autism Awareness Day. So in honor of this, P!nk is ready to get a little less, um, pink and a little more blue.
The "Try" singer Tweeted:
On April 2nd I will be going BLUE! Join me and honor all of those affected by autism! lightitupblue.org

The Light It Up Blue campaign is part of Autism Awareness Day, and it encourages people (and everything else) to go blue in order to spread awareness. In other words buildings, people and social media are all set to get azure, cerulean, baby blue, you name it. Maybe you can't turn a big building blue (check out the Empire State Building in P!nk's link), but you can wear blue to work or school, or change your FB or Twitter profile pic to a banner from Autism Speaks. Tweeting about it can also teach your friends about what's up and get them involved.
Autism Speaks reports that about one out of every 88 kids born in America has some form of autism. (One in 54 if we're just talking boys.) Despite the prevalence, there isn't a whole lot of research funding to learn more about it. Autism awareness can help lead to diagnoses for children with autism, but it can also help fund the necessary research. And while it might sound a little weird to say that P!nk is wearing blue, it's so cool to see her be a part of this!
