Today is World Humanitarian Day, and this year's theme is "The World Needs More…" More what? Well, today you get to decide! Find ways to take action below.
The United Nations is asking you to Tweet with #TheWorldNeedsMore #insert word. Whatever your answer is (love, equality, etc.), it should be one word and it needs a hashtag in front of it to work. This social campaign is twofold: it lets everyone speak say what they want, and this can get things moving in the humanitarian world as Twitter trends show what's important to people. It also can raise money. Different brands have chosen set words, and each time that word is used, they donate $1. For instance, Gucci's word is "strength," so every time someone Tweets "#TheWorldNeedsMore #strength," Gucci donates a dollar.
+ Visit the Site
If you visit the official World Humanitarian Day site, you can watch the word cloud and see what words are trending. You'll also be able to see what words are being sponsored (and which words are generating donations). See how your word of choice is doing, and maybe some of the other words here will inspire you!
+ Follow on Twitter

+ Watch Beyoncé's Video
Last year Beyoncé performed "I Was Here" (which just happens to be nominated for Best Video With a Social Message at the VMAs) for World Humanitarian Day. This year Queen Bey is back with a special interview with Kid President. Check it out:
