The Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton Twitter feud has gotten some people really emotional, and some nasty words have been flung by fans from both sides. However, Gaga posted a message on the Born This Way Foundation tumblr, asking for tolerance and acceptance, not bullying and threats.
Lady Gaga, who will be opening the 2013 VMAs with a world premier performance of her new single "Applause", Tweeted:

Last week Perez began Tweeting that he liked Katy Perry's "Roar" better than Gaga's "Applause" and other things that seemed to say "Roar" beat out "Applause." Gaga then Tweeted, "Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident". She quickly added, "Please monsters do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. Im ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance". Some Little Monsters were still feeling peeved, though, especially when Lady Gaga said Perez was stalking her (something he denies).
Yesterday we highlighted how awesome Little Monsters can be, but a few sent Perez Twitter messages that included name calling and wishes that he would die. While Gaga doesn't specifically mention Perez in her Born This Way message, it's doubtlessly what caused the singer to speak out. She wrote, "Sending threats of any kind, using hateful or abusive language, and the provoking of others on the internet is not supported by me or anything that I stand for. What I've seen transpiring is wrong and upsetting to me, and I've made it very clear how I feel about equality and compassion."
She went on, "People deal with their insecurities in many different ways. The anonymous nature of social media has made it easy for many to vent their anger by bullying others with no recourse or accountability. But this is not a healthy way to handle your emotions ... Please represent me and our community with the values we cherish and live by."
Now that deserves some applause!
