Taylor Swift is known for singing a tune about an ex every now and again, but when it comes to singin' total anthems about lost love, one woman takes the cake: Carly Simon.

The two sang Simon's breakup anthem, "You're So Vain," at the Gillette Stadium last night, and Taylor became one of only a handful of people to find out which one of Simon's high-profile boyfriends the song is really about. Some say "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" a standard breakup story, but we say it's the tale of a strong woman who left an unhealthy relationship with no intentions of going back. One in three girls in the U.S. is a victim of physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner, which is why organizations like Love Is Respect are working hard to teach young people to spot and avoid mistreatment.

"Should've Said No" sounds like a song about cheating, but what if it's actually an undercover ode to the two out of three teenagers who've had sex but wish they'd waited. When it comes to your body, you should never say "yes" to anything you're not ready for. In fact, only half of all high school students have had sex, so there's no need to rush just to fit in!

"Mean" is obviously about bullying, but with lyrics like, "You, with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me," we think Taylor is specifically targeting the digital ones. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but digital disrespect can hurt (and stay on the Internet) forever. 17% of young people have been threatened or manipulated online or via text message, but campaigns like A Thin Line are all about teaching young people to respect themselves and others in the digital world.
