Whenever we're counting down the days until the next "Teen Wolf" episode, we can't help but wonder what our favorite wolves are doing off-screen. This Saturday afternoon, we caught Tyler Posey walking the green carpet at Variety's 2013 Power of Youth event.
Variety's 2013 Power of Youth event is basically a giant block party where stars are honored for their work with charitable causes. Posey, along with actors Nina Dobrev (Free the Children), Jake T. Austin (Ronald McDonald House), Abigail Breslin (Project Sunshine), and Quvenzhané Wallis (Teaching Gardens), received the event's GenerationOn Award, which recognizes young stars "who have made significant contributions to philanthropic or charitable causes."
Posey was recognized for his work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Although the actor is often in the spotlight, he was more than willing to share it with the cause. He talked about the important work LLS is doing, including how "their research has developed into treating other cancers." The agency, he explained, has raised "millions of dollars and invested hundreds of millions into their research, and I feel it's time they were better known." We couldn't agree more, Tyler!
If you want to help your favorite werewolf fight cancer, you can be an advocate for LLS or find other ways to volunteer for the agency. For more ways to take action against cancer, check out the action widgets below.
