It's time to unleash your inner diva...and use it to help music education! "VH1 Divas" is going to air live December 16 at 9PM ET/8C, and this soon-to-be epic night is using its star power for a good deed.
Adam Lambert has been tapped to host, and Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Ciara and Kelly Rowland will be performing. They're going to honor Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, but it gets even better. Funds raised will go right on over to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, which is dedicated to keeping music education in school. All you musicians out there know that some musical instruments can be really expensive, but Save the Music has given $49.5 million dollars' worth of instruments to students. That's changed the lives of more than two million kids. True story!!!
Save the Music also has its own special ambassadors, and the 2013 ambassadors just got announced today. Mariah Carey and B.o.B are on the list, NBD, and they'll be raising money and awareness for this super important cause.
If you want to help Save the Music but can't afford to give donations, there are other ways you can help out. Wanna get an advocacy toolkit? You can learn why music education is so important, and then talk about it to people, like those involved in school and district planning committees. Music education can help improve students' grades and give them a creative outlet in the classroom. Now that's something that deserves a standing ovation!
