For the past few weeks, Lucasfilm and the company's new president, Kathleen Kennedy, have been holed up figuring out how to make the next "Star Wars" while we're left outside to speculate who will direct "Episode VII" and then write blogs about it.
Well, MTV News took the proactive approach and got as close to Kennedy as we could, her husband, producer Frank Marshall at the premiere for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."
Josh Horowitz spoke with Marshall, who attended the screening with his daughter, and while he admitted that he had inside knowledge of the deals going on, he wasn't offering up any of the juice.
"I do," said Marshall, when asked if he has info. "But I can't reveal it, or I won't be alive tomorrow." Marshall also added the the search has narrowed to "a couple of candidates," but he doesn't know when the general public will have an answer.
"I'm really excited about this," he said. "I didn't grow up with it, but I was a big fan and have been since the series started. I'll always remember seeing that big mother-ship go over the screen. I've never forgotten it. I can't wait to see what's next."
