"Oz the Great and Powerful" is going to put an interesting twist on the Oz we all know and love when it hits theaters next March. After Disney released three posters separately, we're now finally seeing them together to get a sense of the wonderful world over the rainbow.
There's Chinatown, flying monkeys and the wizard's hot air balloon on the right, a very wicked-looking witch on the left, and the characters played by James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz caught in between them. Oz certainly looks great and terrible in this image (courtesy of Yahoo), but somehow we have a feeling that the land is more than meets the eye.
If you want an even better look at the world, USA Today has released nine new images in addition to new interviews with Franco and director Sam Raimi. In the interviews, Franco explains how his character, huckster Oscar Diggs, manages to turn into the foretold Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
"Everyone thinks he's the wizard; he has to maintain this façade of being a fantastical wizard to save his hide," he explained.
Raimi added that there are "no less than 700 artists working on 'Oz'" currently, and that the movie is almost completed. "It really is a tremendous effort of coordination," he said.
