You read all about it on basically every news site and pop culture blog: 2012 was the year of the cinematic archer. Every big movie had a character stringing up a bow and arrow and taking down enemies from afar.
But who was the greatest movie archer of year? Is it one of the heavy-hitters like Hawkeye and Katniss? Or does your taste favor the Pixar variety?
It's time to voice your opinion in the poll below!
Katniss Everdeen - "The Hunger Games"
"The Girl on Fire" or "The Girl That Set Off A Million Trend Pieces About Archery," Katniss Everdeen is most likely the reason we're having this discussion in the first place. It also helps to know that Jennifer Lawrence has some serious real-life archery skills.
Clint "Hawkeye" Barton - "The Avengers"
No one comes close to touching Hawkeye when it comes to accuracy. The man shot an arrow from a Quinjet and made it curve around the Hellicarrier, having it land perfectly in a point of vulnerability. Let's not forget his little flash drive arrow trick. It downloaded a virus. A computer virus from an arrow.
Merida - "Brave"
The obvious winner in the hair department, Merida from "Brave" showed off her archery skills to prove that she didn't need any suitors fighting for her hand. Well, that's certainly one way to prove a point.
William - "Snow White and the Huntsman"
It's a little surprising when the Prince Charming of the story gets the short end of the stick, but in "SWATH," the Huntsman got the title treatment and the affection of the fair Snow White. To compensate, William got some sweet bow and arrow skills.
Theseus - "Immortals"
This one could be filed under "Who now?" but "Immortals" was an actual movie that came out this year, and it starred the new Superman, Henry Cavill, as the legendary warrior Theseus, who happened to have a magical bow.
