The Smurfs have returned, and this time they're getting naughty.
The first trailer for "The Smurfs 2" has hit the web, and shows the introduction of new, bad creatures called the Naughties. Hank Azaria's Gargamel is back and trying to defeat the Smurfs, so he's decided to create his own small, Smurf-like creations to take them down. The Naughties, voiced by Christina Ricci and JB Smoove, seem like they're able to do the unthinkable: Make Smurfette go bad.

Do we need another "Smurfs" movie? Probably not, but at least this sequel ensures one thing: More Neil Patrick Harris in our lives. He only gets a brief appearance at the end of the trailer but it's enough for us. That man can make anything -- even the first "Smurfs" movie -- more enjoyable.
Based on this first trailer, "The Smurfs 2" actually doesn't look that bad. Sure, it's geared more towards kids than adults, but the plot seems solid and the talent involved is at least worth a watch. Considering a third "Smurfs" movie is reportedly on the way, we might as well get used to the series while we can.
"The Smurfs 2" brings together the voice talents of Ricci, Smoove, Alan Cumming, Anton Yelchin, Katy Perry (as Smurfette, of course), Fred Armisen, George Lopez, John Oliver, Jonathan Winters and Alan Cumming. The film also stars Azaria, Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara and Brendan Gleeson in live action roles. It's due out on July 31, 2013.
