Probably not.
It's been weeks since any movement—official or rumored—on the "Star Wars: Episode VII" front, so the geeks are getting a little restless and desperate for any bit of information about their 2015 date with destiny.
The latest rumor comes from a Guatemala-based Reuters reporter writing about the connection between the 2012 Mayan apocalypse and a location used for the rebel base Yavin 4 during the filming of "A New Hope." (Yeah...) The article ends with a surprisingly casual mention of a "Episode VII" plot line.
"Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the 'Star Wars' plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi Knight academy. However, fans said that Disney will likely film those scenes in a studio rather than return to Tikal."
Considering the highly sensitive nature of anything "Episode VII" related, we doubt that a Reuters reporter embedded in Guatemala would be privy to the plot of the new sequel.
The log line reads distinctly like popular fan speculation, so it may be safe to assume that this reporter read it somewhere online and mistook it for the official synopsis. But crazier things have happened than a plot leaking to an unlikely source.
