Considering how terrifying the found footage horror anthology "V/H/S" is, it should come as no surprise that a sequel is already in the works. But the first film, which included a series of shorts made by indie directors like Ti West, Adam Wingard, Joe Swanberg and the collective known as Radio Silence, has got a lot of exciting people itching to take part in the upcoming "V/H/S 2."
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that "The Raid" director Gareth Evans and "The Blair Witch Project" helmer Eduardo Sanchez will both be co-writing and co-directing segments of "V/H/S 2." In addition, "Hobo With a Shotgun" director Jason Eisener will be taking a stab at the anthology horror project.
Lesser known names like Timo Tjahjanto and Gregg Hale will be participating in the creation of "V/H/S 2" as well. Wingard will now be directing his own segment and Simon Barrett, who wrote two "V/H/S" segments, will be making his directorial debut in the second movie.
Sanchez and Hale will be directing a segment together, which Sanchez wrote with his "Lovely Molly" co-writer Jamie Nash. Meanwhile, Evans is working with Tjahjanto on his short. The sequel is set to shoot in Los Angeles, Maryland, Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Indonesia.
The first movie told a variety of terrifying stories that were thematically connected. They featured ghosts, murderers, haunted houses and even a vampiric harpy creature who just wanted a little lovin'. It is currently in limited release and available on VOD.
