Many of us are deeply concerned about the state of the planet, and Leonardo DiCaprio gets it. In fact, he's got a petition asking that the Antarctic Ocean be made into the globe's biggest marine sanctuary, and "The Dark Knight Rises" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has got his back.
Joseph helped spread the word to all his Tweeps:
Pls join me in signing this petition in support of @leodicaprio's initiative to create the world's lrgst marine reserve bit.ly/WRR2ox

Joe's not the only star using Twitter power to tell more people about Leo's petition. Ian Somerhalder and Linkin Park have also jumped on board. Of course, you don't have to be famous to get involved -- and JGL et al def want you to come on board.
The petition will be given to the delegates of the Antarctic Commission, and it's short and to the point, reading:
"As concerned citizens from around the world, we call on you to act decisively to secure the precious habitat of whales and other ocean species when you meet in Hobart, Australia. We call for an ambitious deal that establishes the world's largest network of marine protected areas in the Southern Ocean, starting with the Ross Sea and East Antarctica."
Leo's also written a letter to go with the petition, explaining, "Within days, governments could begin turning wide stretches of the Antarctic ocean into the world's largest marine sanctuary...But they won't act unless we speak out now." He goes on to say that most countries are supportive of the sanctuary, but a few are holding out. However, if enough people really get behind this, it might be the final push needed. Joe and over a million others have already signed...how about you?
