The election is now less than a week away, and Maine, Washington, Maryland and Minnesota have ballots dealing with the legality of same-sex marriage. Effie Trinket Elizabeth Banks, a big supporter of same-sex marriage, took to Twitter with an inspiring music video from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
She Tweeted:
Music vid that says it all bit.ly/ebsamelove about same-sex marriage @macklemore @ryanlewis thx @stephisawes0me #election2012

By following her link, you'll wind up on Elizabeth's website, which gives a brief introduction and then shows the video. Hip hop artists and fans are sometimes stereotyped as being anti-gay, but Macklemore came out with a powerful, beautiful pro-LGBT anthem called "Same Love." The video includes a wedding, of course, but it has a lot of other touching imagery as well. You can watch it below too!

Elizabeth's website also has all the lyrics laid out, so that you don't miss any. This is a song that packs a lot of words and a lot of meaning. Below are some of the lyrics.
Progress, march on! with a veil over our eyes. We turn our back on the cause. 'Till the day that my uncles can be united by law, kids are walkin' around the hallway plagued by pain in their heart; a world so hateful some would rather die than be who they are. And a certificate on paper isn't gonna solve it all, but it's a damn good place to start.
The vid ends asking you to support marriage equality. Elizabeth is obvi enraptured with the song and the video to go with it. What do you guys think of it?
