George Clooney has assembled an impressive cast for his fifth directorial effort, "The Monuments Men."

Like the previous films he's directed, Clooney will star in the upcoming World War II drama. But Deadline is reporting that the movie will also star Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban. We guess when you're George Clooney you really do have the pick of the litter for your projects.

It's sort of like Clooney went through all of our favorite movies and picked out the actors that appear in the most of them. Murray and Goodman can do no wrong in our eyes, while Blanchett is consistently flawless and Craig apparently kills it in the upcoming Bond film "Skyfall." Meanwhile, Dujardin made a huge splash in "The Artist" last year, Bonneville has a lead role in "Downtown Abbey" (maybe Clooney is a fan?) and Bob Balaban charmed us recently as the narrator in "Moonrise Kingdom." Needless to say, this is a cast we can't wait to see come together.

According to Deadline, "The Monuments Men" "confronts the final chapter of Germany's rule, which came down to the absolute destruction of everything that makes a culture keep its standing, including the lives that are lost and the sacrifices that are made. All of this is in danger of being lost forever as Hitler and the Nazis try to cover the tracks of a murderous regime. A crew of art historians and museum curators unite to recover renown works of art that were stolen by Nazis before Hitler destroys them."

Clooney and his partner Grant Heslov wrote the script for "The Monuments Men." The plan is to have production begin on the movie on March 1 in Europe. Alexander Desplat is doing the score, and Clooney is apparently using the same crew Ben Affleck did on "Argo." If that's not a sign of success, we don't know what is.
