Hurricane Sandy has done some major damage to New York City, but it's also played right into director Darren Aronofsky's hand. He's been busy filming his Biblical epic "Noah" in Oyster Bay, New York, and life started paralleling history when production had to dismantle part of Noah's ark in anticipation of the torrential rains that Sandy was dumping on the area.

Star Emma Watson was the one to point out the irony of this situation over Twitter last night, and Aronofsky retweeted her statement on his own account.

"I take it that the irony of a massive storm holding up the production of Noah is not lost @DarrenAronofsky@russellcrowe @MattyLibatique," she tweeted.

In addition to the set, Frankenstorm did some major damage to Aronofsky's home.

"just lost my chimney, really," he tweeted.

There's still three weeks to go until "Noah" is wrapped, and the crew kept filming up until October 28 when Sandy was about to arrive. Cinematographer Matthew Libatique also noted the irony of being on an ark while waiting for a hurricane.

"@DarrenAronofsky @russellcrowe What better place to be during a hurricane than on an ARK. Here's to a strong finish," he said Sunday.

Meanwhile, leading man Russell Crowe spent his Monday drinking tea and waxing poetic about Hurricane Sandy.

"Sitting in a Hurricane,just like any another day... I'll wait to see what blows in with the wind," he tweeted.

"Noah" is due in theaters on March 28, 2014.
