Hurricane Sandy has affected over 8 million people and if you're one of the lucky ones who didn't get hit you probably still know someone who was affected by the natural disaster. There are many ways you can help out from donating a few dollars to giving blood. People also need emotional support and our friends at Love Is Louder is helping to provide just that, with your help of course.
Love Is Louder is all about reminding us of our ability to overcome challenges and support each other through tough times. So they created a Love is Louder than Sandy campaign and are collecting messages of support for those impacted by the storm. Wanna get involved? Here's how:
+ Get people together from your community or school and create a banner or signs that say "Love is Louder than Sandy" and then give a message of support like "Sending Love and Hope from Chicago" or "We're Thinking About You in Orlando." Take video or photo of your group with the banner or signs.
+ Record a short message of hope for individuals and families struggling in the aftermath of the storm. Remind them Love is Louder than any disaster. If you've been through a storm or tragedy, say you understand and remind them that they can get through it.
+ Simply take a picture with "Love is Louder than Sandy" written on your hand or on a sign. Personalize it with a message of support.
Email your photo or a link to your video to sandy@loveislouder.com. Love Is Louder will compile messages of support and put them together in a video, which they'll share online.
