Uma Thurman is the latest star to become attached to Lars von Trier's upcoming project, "Nymphomaniac."
The film is currently shooting in Germany, and Thurman has come onboard in an undisclosed part, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. She joins a pretty loaded cast that already includes Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Charlotte Gainsboroug, Stellan Skarsgard, Jamie Bell and Stacy Martin.
Like most of the actors in this movie, Thurman will likely play a character from the flashbacks portion of the story. "Nymphomaniac" tells the story of a woman named Joe (Gainsboroug), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is found by an "old, charming bachelor" named Seligman (Stellan Skarsgard) after being beaten and left in a back alley. She then goes on to tell him the story of her life and erotic lifestyle from birth to age 50.
Thurman is no stranger to erotic stories. She recently starred opposite Robert Pattinson as one of his lovers in "Bel Ami," and also starred in the 1988 John Malkovich film "Dangerous Liasons."
"Nymphomaniac" will be released as a two-part film in both a hardcore and softcore version at some point during 2013. As LaBeouf told MTV News recently, it's going to be a "wild movie."
"[The movie] is what you think it is," he said. "It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he's making. For instance, there's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we'll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening."
