Yesterday was pretty mega with the first ever International Day of the Girl and National Coming Out Day. It also happened to be Michelle Trachtenberg's birthday, and she's happy to share the day with other sweet stuff that's going on.
The Gossip Girl and lil sis to Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tweeted:
So happy to share my birthday with #NationalComingOutDay. We are all the same, and we all deserve love. #October11th

And did you get a load of the numerical perfection of 10/11/12?
Yesterday was the very first Day of the Girl, and we really hope that takes off and helps bring rights to girls around the world. National Coming Out Day has been around longer -- since 1987 -- so Michelle was basically just a little baby when it got started. And, yeah, all three of these things were trending on Twitter yesterday at the same time that MTV's logo went rainbow (didja catch that?).
National Coming Out Day is a day about acceptance, love and friendship. Each year NCOD has a different theme, and this year's is "Come Out. Vote." because of the big election we have right around the corner. National Coming Out Day doesn't mean you have to come out if you're LGBT. You need to do what's best and most comfortable for yourself, and only you know that. But we do have tips for coming out below!
And you don't have to be LGBT to take part in National Coming Out Day, just like how you don't have to be female to appreciate Day of the Girl. 10/11/12 was an overall day for acceptance and progress, and Michelle got even more special meaning out of it!
