Apparently, it was your money that was taken this weekend at the box office. The sequel to 2009's surprise hit, "Taken 2" opened to an impressive $50 million debut. That's more than double what the original did in its first weekend and the biggest bow in Liam Neeson's latest string of "retired badass" movies.
Adam Sandler's "Hotel Transylvania" managed to hold on, coming in at the number two spot and adding $26.3 to its total, which now sits at $76 million.
"Pitch Perfect" expanded from its more limited release to 2,770 theaters and reaped the benefits. It grossed $14.7 million and landed at number three.
