If you've noticed things around you getting a lot more pink lately, that's because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "90210" star Jessica Lowndes is doing a lot more than wearing pink this month -- she's getting involved in efforts to raise money for cancer research!

During this month, different celebs are teaming up with handbag designer Patricia Nash to sell signed bags and their "must have" contents. This week Jess's signed saddle bag is up for auction, and you have until October 15 to place a bid on it. Her must have items in the bag? Rosebud lip balm, Tide to Go stain remover pen, Laura Mercier hand cream and Donna Karan Cashmere Mist deodorant.

There are other celebs joining Jess by fighting breast cancer with uh, handbags. Vanessa Hudgens and Giuliana Rancic join Jessica with bag auctions this week and Jenna Dewan Tatum has one going next week. Love is Louder supporter Brittany Snow's auction recently closed, and she was able to bring $190 to breast cancer research. The good news is that every cent raised from these auctions goes directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

There are other ways you can make a diff if you can't afford to buy Jess's bag. For one thing, you can research breast cancer so you know how to keep yourself protected. Also, you can like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation on Facebook or follow it on Twitter. You can ever join the Breast Cancer Research Foundation mailing list to keep up-to-date on what they've got going on. So bag or not, stay informed and fight breast cancer this month with Jess -- all it takes is a hot second or two.
