A number of memorable moments have happened over the course of "Teen Mom," and Amber Portwood's struggles with depression, anger and substance abuse definitely stand out. In tonight's special "Amber Behind Bars," which airs at 10/9c, Dr. Drew talks with Amber in prison about what the young mom has learned and how she wants to turn her life around.
Amber first got into trouble because of domestic violence charges she received after hitting her boyfriend Gary Shirley. She's also gone from an abuser to an opiate addict. She was offered the choice of treatment or a prison term, and Amber chose the prison term. She was sentenced to five years. Choosing prison surprised a lot of "Teen Mom" viewers, but in tonight's interview she gets a chance to explain why this was the choice she decided to make.
Amber will also talk about the strides she's making in her life. People who have seen her go into dangerous rages against herself and other people might be surprised to see her much calmer and willing to admit her mistakes.
It's def. a heart-to-heart talk she has with Dr. Drew, and he asks her some tough questions. When Amber says she's going to change, Dr. Drew wants to know why this is different from other times when she's said the same thing. She also clears up some rumors that have been going around on the Internet. Watch a sneak peek of the special below, in which Amber opens up about the fact that only her mom has visited in her in jail -- and not Gary or her daughter Leah. And tune in tonight, 10/9c to see how Amber is holding up.
