April Rose from MTV2's "Guy Code" is more than just a sassy blonde whose curvy bod makes me look like a ten-year-old boy in comparison -- she's the spokesperson for LifeLine Response, an app that alerts authorities if a smart-phone user is in need of help.

When alone outside in the dark, "a lot of girls are told to be talking on your phone, be texting, be in contact with someone," says Amber Rose. "But that can be tough because then you're paying attention to your phone conversation, but then you're not paying attention to your surroundings." LifeLine Response allows uses to feel safe and stay aware of what's going on around them.

The app has two modes: Thumb Mode and Timer Mode. Thumb Mode is perfect for anyone who's ever felt uneasy walking through a dark alley or poorly lit parking lot. (Me. Every night, because I am in my twenties and yet still pathetically afraid of the dark. Winnie The Pooh nightlights aren't just for kids, y'all!) In thumb mode, you open the app and press your thumb onto the screen. If your thumb is released from the screen for more than 20 seconds, your vital information and GPS location will be transmitted to local police.

If you're an evening jogger, or you realize you don't really wanna spend the night with the guy from across campus. (Two people, one futon is never ideal.), you can use timer mode to set the duration of your journey home. If you don't disarm your phone before the timer goes off, the po-po will be notified.

Aside from being a spokesperson for the app, April Rose was an EMT after high school, and worked as a Sexual Assault Medical counselor for 6 years! So you mean to tell me that blondes have more fun AND they're awesome people too? Damnit -- I was born with the wrong hair color…
