Lesley Gore was a teen sensation in the 60s with songs like "It's My Party," and she's still got it! Her 1964 Girl Power hit "You Don't Own Me" has been made into an election PSA with a message to women to get out and vote in order to protect their rights, especially their reproductive rights.

The video opens with Lesley channeling prez candidates by saying "I approve this message." Ha! Then the incredibly catchy song starts playing with different women lip-syncing to it. Some hold up signs like "My body my mind my rights" and "My body is not a battleground." It also lists facts like, "In 2008, 60% of voters were women."

The idea of the PSA came from law school graduate and filmmaker Sarah Sophie Flicker. Explaining her reasoning behind the PSA, she said, "Personally, I'm struck by the fact that we are teetering dangerously close to a situation where my daughter won't have the same rights I've enjoyed my entire life and that scares the heck out of me. Women constituted 60% of last elections voters. We can win this thing. We just have to agitate, motivate, and get out the darn vote!"

Women in the vid include Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson, singer Sia, "Girls" creator, writer and actress Lena Dunham and actress Mae Whitman from "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." The video stresses the point that women should decide what's best for them and their bodies, not politicians. You can watch it below:

"I recorded 'You Don't Own Me' in 1964," Lesley says at the end of the vid. "It's hard for me to believe but we're still fighting for the same things we were then. Yes, ladies, we've got to come together, get out there and vote and protect our bodies. They're ours. Please vote."
