The third and final Presidential debate was Monday night, leading perfectly into the November 6th elections. But there's one more holiday to celebrate before Election Day: Halloween! If you're tired of the standard witch (i.e. undies plus hat), or cat (i.e. undies plus ears), or "Risky Business" (i.e. undies plus dress shirt) costumes, or want to avoid being the 148th Big Bird on your block, here are a few male and female ensembles inspired by the debates' most quotable moments.
+ Sexy Horse and Bayonet
"You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets." -- Obama

If nothing good came of last night's debate, at least half of America now knows how to spell "bayonet." Make your costume a group effort with one of those two person horse outfits. Or in the true spirit of Halloween -- which, for most girls, is to wear as little and freeze as much as possible -- find a way to incorporate a tight, brown bodysuit into your ensemble. You sexy horse and bayonet, you!
+ Cold War
"…the 1980s, they're now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War's been over for 20 years." -- Obama
Pictured: Army jacket; gloves ($8); camo cap ($25).
Realistically, any girl dressed as a sexy soldier at the helm of winter could be considered a "cold war." For the fellas and conservatives, camo pants and some mittens should make your point.
+ World Peace
"Our purpose is to make sure the world is peaceful. We want a peaceful planet." -- Romney
Pictured: Earth onezie (do-it-yourself); peace glasses ($5); hippy wig ($11).
If you can't find a globe to wear, throw some paint on the standard m&m costume. Add an afro wig, a tie-dyed headband, and some radical sunglasses and voila! You are World Peace! (Not to be confused with Meta World Peace -- the basketballer formally known as Ron Artest.)
+ Binder Full of Women
"I went to a number of women's groups and said, 'Can you help us find folks?' and they brought us whole binders full of women." -- Romney
Romney's binder statement has spawned one of the most awesome political Tumblr accounts since Texts from Hilary. Although this would make a great individual costume, we'd love to see an entire group of friends squeeze into a massive cardboard binder.
+ Unemployment
Photo: beard ($4); boxers; robe (varied).
Unemployment -- a hot topic at the debates, even this week's foreign policy debate! -- looks a lot like Sunday mornings…every day of the week. A t-shirt, a bathrobe, a pair of boxers, and a massive bowl (or cooking pot if you're fully committed) of cereal ought to do the trick. And if you boys really wanna look believable, don't shave between now and Halloween.
