There's a lot to be excited about in "The Man With the Iron Fists." The film is presented by Quentin Tarantino, was co-written, directed and stars Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, was also co-written by Eli Roth and stars Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu. If that wasn't enough to prove that this film is tapped into our interests, then this news should: an animated prequel for the flick that's in the style of a motion comic has been released, and it is awesome.

"The mid-18th century. The world is strange, and there sure ain't no place for the weak. Life is hard. There are the strong and the rich, the poor and the starving, and then, at the bottom of the barrel, there are the slaves. People like me," RZA's character says in the video's voiceover.

The prequel, called "The Encounter," as much sets the tone for "The Man With the Iron Fists" as it does set up the story. This is a hard world that we're entering into, and one that's not for the faint of heart. It's clear that RZA plays a man hardened by his environment, and we'll be interested in seeing how this story fits into the greater tale of the film. Plus, we're big fans of his character's outlook on life.

"You know what I say? If you can't beat 'em, blow their a--es to f--king hell," the voiceover continues. Insert epic cannon fighting here.

The official synopsis for "The Man With the Iron Fists" reads, "Since his arrival in China's Jungle Village, the town's blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans' brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soulless villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people." The film is due out November 2.
