Brian Grazer's dream of making a James Brown biopic seems like it's actually becoming a reality.

Deadline has learned that Grazer is teaming with Mick Jagger to produce a movie about Brown's life. "The Help" director Tate Taylor will helm the project based on a script written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.

With those important parts in place, Grazer still needs to find a distributor for the project and an actor who looks and can sing like Brown. The movie will be a co-production between Jagged Films and Imagine Entertainment.

"It's a great honor to be involved with a project as rich as the story of the legendary James Brown," Jagger said in a statement to Deadline. "He was a mesmerizing performer with a fascinating life."

In another statement, Grazer called Brown "one of the most electric, exciting stage performers of all time."

Before his passing in 2006, Brown was "an active part in its development." Now his family will pick up where he left off, and have said that they have entered into "a partnership" with Grazer to "bring his inspirational story to the big screen." Consider us intrigued.

According to Deadline, this currently untitled movie "charts a young boy's rise from extreme poverty and violence to become The Godfather Of Soul, one of the most influential black artists in history whose career spanned six decades." Grazer, Jagger and the rest of the film's team will be hard-pressed to find someone who's voice lives up to that great legacy.
