Lady Gaga likes to be avant-garde with her fashion statements but her latest statement is all about sweetness and solidarity. She shaved part of her head bald in honor of Terry Richardon's mom who recently died of cancer at age 74.
Terry Richardson, a famous fashion photographer, published the book "Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson" with the pop singer last year. They became tight during the year that Terry spent with Gaga shooting her for the book. Which leads us to Lady Gaga's Tweet and picture (and reference to her song "Princess Die"):
I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high littlemonsters.com/image/504feebe…

It might not be Gaga's whole head but it's certainly a tribute. Country singer Kellie Pickler of "American Idol" fame recently did something similar: she shaved her whole head to be supportive of a childhood friend who has cancer. Now that's BBF-ship!
Talk about cancer seems very big now, especially with the amazing Stand Up To Cancer still in our minds. More than 81 million dollars was raised for that, and people like Lady Gaga and Kellie are making the fight against cancer more personal by changing how they look. If someone close to you had cancer, what would you do to be helpful? Are we going to be seeing more shaved heads? Will this new look replace the Skrillex-esque sidecut buzz we've been seeing everywhere?! To be continued.
Our condolences go out to Terry and his family during this time. Cancer is a disease that affects all of us -- we know someone who is fighting it right now or has fought it in the past. So remember to fight cancer however you can -- whether it's by donating to an org or tweeting about ending the disease.
