Demi Lovato knows about eating disorders, because she's struggled with bulimia in the past. She also knows that unrealistic images of women or criticism of weight gain can lead to body image issues which she points out on Twitter.
Demi Tweeted:
So apparently Kate Middleton (William?) is pregnant because of THIS picture... Are you KIDDING ME?!! twitter.com/ddlovato/statu…

Her Tweet includes a pic of an extreme closeup on Kate Middleton's waist. Middleton, a.k.a. the Duchess of Cambridge, a.k.a. Prince William's wife, is having her body scrutinized on the cover of Star magazine because she supposedly looks pregnant. The same magazine cover also has a story dissing Jessica Simpson for her weight. The headline? "Jessica's Struggle: Stuck At 182 Lbs." WTH?
The "X-Factor" judge Tweeted more about the matter and had some words for Star, which frequently has articles about stars' weight:
And people wonder why girls/guys have body image issues.. Whether she is or not, she still has a beautiful body. Shame on you Star magazine.

Just last week Demi took home the 2012 VMA Moonman for Best Video With A Message, and she continues to use her voice for causes that are important to her. Healthy body image is def. one of the causes she keeps talking about. People have tried to criticize Demi's body before (again, WTH?), but she's not taking it. After someone on Twitter said Demi's arms were fat, the "Skyscraper" singer replied, "So if my arms are fat, who gives a f***?" And earlier this year, before her doc "Stay Strong" debuted, Demi Tweeted, "Most models are thinner than 98% of Americans. Instead of trying to change our bodies, how about we try to change our culture?"
There's a reason so many Lovatics voted for Demi to win Best Video With A Message. She keeps bringing a message we like to hear! And if you are struggling with an eating disorder, please seek out help like Demi did. You can always check out Half of Us for support.
