This is a big week for Katy Perry — Prism just came out, her b-day's tomorrow, and a children hospital's lip-sync to "Roar" is exploding on social media. But Katy hasn't forgotten that October is still Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and she's using her star power to raise some serious funds for the cause.
Last night Katy threw the We Can Survive: Music for Life concert at the Hollywood Bowl to raise money for the Young Survival Coalition, an org that helps young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Beforehand she Tweeted:
WHERE MY GIRLS AT?! @BonnieMcKee @KaceyMusgraves @teganandsara @SaraBareilles @EllieGoulding READY FOR #WECANSURVIE @HollywoodBowl ?!

And then she shared a reeeeally awesome piece of artwork that shows some of the women involved in this oh-so-important concert:

Do you recognize Katy, Ellie Goulding, Tegan & Sara, Sara Bareilles and Kacey Musgraves? They were all part of this event Katy organized! In order to tease people about the coolness of the concert, the "Roar" singer said, "There's so many great acts in this lineup. And I get to play a lot of songs off the record that will have come out the night before."

While the music was awesome, it's also important to talk about the cause. There's a stereotype that only older women get cancer, but that just isn't true, as a recent Sweet Tweet from Kat Dennings discussed. It's vital to get checkups from your doctor and let him or her know if you have any questions. You can also continue your support for Young Survival Coalition by texting "SURVIVE" to 80888 to donate $10. We love all that Katy's got going on this week!
