We're still waiting to find out how a less jokey, more murderous Chucky will go over with fans of the "Child's Play" series. "Curse of Chucky" sets the maniacal Good Guy doll in a darker story, minus the comedy. Director Don Mancini and series writer-producer David Kirschner promised new thrills, and genre icon Brad Dourif will be back to voice the tiny terror. Star Fiona Dourif posted a photo with the new Chucky on her Instagram account this week, and we approve. The differences are subtle, but definitely creepy.
In "Curse of Chucky," Nica (Fiona Dourif) is devastated by her mother's suicide, but locks horns with her older sister (Danielle Bisutti) while trying to settle their mother's affairs. Meanwhile, big sis' daughter is distracted by a mysterious, red-haired doll named Chucky that arrives in the mail. The family doesn't realize that Chucky has a 20-year-old score to settle. The movie will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD in time for the Halloween season this year. What do you think of the new and improved killer doll?
New Cast Members Announced for 'The Human Centipede 3'
We're still trying to wrap our minds around the gory and perverted 500-person centipede that director Tom Six has planned for "The Human Centipede 3: Final Sequence." The final chapter in the over-the-top trilogy will take place in a prison and will undoubtedly be grosstastic to the max. EW reported that three new names were added to the cast, and we're not sure if we should cheer or be totally concerned for their well-being. "Expendables" actor Eric Roberts, "Friday's" Tommy "Tiny" Lister, and porn star Bree Olson (who was one of Charlie Sheen's "goddesses") will star in the new movie. Insert your own jokes here. Villains Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey are returning to the bizarre series. Are you brave enough to watch 500 people do disgusting things in "HC3," or are you totally over it?
New 'Hatchet III' Stills Bring the Blood
Well, hello there, "Hatchet III." You look seriously gory, and we can't wait to see more. The popular Adam Green series returns with BJ McDonnell in the director's chair and stars Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder, Derek Mears, and Zach Galligan in the Honey Island Swamp once more. The tale of killer Victor Crowley continues as a search and rescue team heads into the water to sort out the mess from the first two movies. Harris' Marybeth won't stop searching for an end to the voodoo curse that has terrorized people for decades. Good luck guys, you're going to need it. "Hatchet III" is in theaters on June 14.
New Stills from 'Insidious Chapter 2' Reunite the Haunted Lambert Family
The fine folks at Dread Central shared some new stills from "Insidious Chapter 2." The sequel to the supernatural favorite reunites director and writer James Wan and Leigh Whannell with the original cast: Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, and Ty Simpkins. The Lambert family continues their search for the childhood secrets behind the relentless haunting that turned their world upside down. Chapter two in the paranormal horror-thriller opens on September 13 — which also happens to be a Friday. Bring reinforcements.
'Leprechaun' Director Hired to Reboot Horror Series
We're one step closer to rebooting the "Leprechaun" series, with WWE star Hornswaggle (aka Dylan Postl) playing the titular character that has killer cravings for gold. Visual effects specialist Zach Lipovsky, who was a finalist on Fox's reality show "On the Lot," will be the director for the darker version of "Leprechaun" that WWE Studios has promised fans. Lipovsky has several television movies under his belt, and we're curious to see what he'll do with the beloved horror icon (originally played by Warwick Davis). The first film in the series gave Jennifer Aniston her start in cinema and later saw the loony leprechaun slash his way through the hood and in space. Ready for more "Leprechaun"?
