In the battle of two franchises, only one was able to walk out with its head held high. "Fast and Furious 6" punched the nitro and cruised past expectations to a four-day total of $120 million over Memorial Day weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. The Wolfpack, on the other hand, scored an impressive pile of cash, but "The Hangover Part III" fell short of its predecessor, only managing $63 million in its first five days.

That amount of money for "The Hangover Part III" might not sound like a huge disappointment, but once it's compared to the totals from "Part II," the difference becomes clear. Though it became the bane of critics who called foul about the identical structure to the first film, "The Hangover Part II" cleared $135 million in its first five days in theaters.

Comparatively, "Fast Five," the installment in the car racing series from two years ago, is credited with revitalizing the series both in fan appreciate and ticket sales. During its first four days, "Fast 5" made $92 million. So while "The Hangover Part III" certainly looks like the end of the road for that franchise, this might only be the beginning for the "Fast and Furious" crew.
