In the midst of a presidential election and countless other big news stories that could affect our lives, a new headline has been surprisingly rampant: Lady Gaga gained some weight. In fact, there has even been quite a bit of anger and mocking aimed at her (for, well, being human) and Lady Gaga responded on Twitter with a positive body message.
The Lady Tweeted:
And thank to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you. littlemonsters.com/image/505d58a3…

Her link takes us to a very inspiring Marilyn Monroe quote:

While many people have attacked Gaga, many others have come to her defense. MTV Buzzworthy's Tamar Anitai wrote, "Our are minds really that corroded by the willful neglect of realistic body types that we fail to see the beauty of a woman like Gaga and throw stones at her like a low-rent Greek chorus if she wanted to enjoy some of Chef Art Smith's fried chicken? Or feel the need to reduce to her (and other women) to an unrealistic body type that most women can never attain, causing some women to starve themselves, break down their once-healthy bodies or, even more tragically, die?"
Lady Gaga's only the latest in a string of incidents where celebrities are bashed for their weight. Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Adele and too many others also know how it feels to have their weight talked about when it should be their talent. But Lady Gaga, who's admitted to struggling with bulimia in the past, is shrugging off the 25 pound weight gain.
"I really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second," she said. Bravo to Gaga for showing us that it's not THE END OF THE WORLD if someone gains weight. No matter her shape or size, she'll always be our Mother Monster because she was born that way.
