Duh, "Modern Family" swept at Sunday's 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. But surprise! "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita are engaged. Yep, you heard me right these two are tying the knot! And tying knots -- stylish ones -- for a cause, too.
In a video announcing the engagement, the soon-to-be husband and husband introduced their new foundation -- Tie The Knot! The clever new project will be a collection of bow-ties designed by them benefitting charities working to fight for marriage equality! In the video Jesse revealed, "We want our interpersonal relationship to be acknowledged in a union formalized via a wedding ceremony. But we're just like millions of Americans who are denied the basic civil rights to marry the person that we love."
The 2012 presidential election is going to be a big election for marriage equality. For the first time ever a sitting president, Barack Obama, has come out in support of full marriage equality -- but his opponent, Mitt Romney, see things differently. Their are currently four states (Maryland, Maine, Minnesota, and Washington) that will have this issue on their ballot come election time. Get registered, and check out more about Tie The Knot below:
