Mark your calenders: this Sunday, August 19 is World Humanitarian Day! The goal of this day -- an effort by the United Nations with the help of Beyoncé -- is to reach one billion people worldwide. Ready to one of the many to leave your footprint with Bey? Here are five ways you can take part:
+ Add your "I Was Here" message. Add your voice to the "I Was Here" movement to schedule a message of support on your Twitter and/or Facebook for this Sunday. Everyone who signs up will have the same message, sent at the same time -- that's ONE loud, collective voice!
+ Spread the message. Add a Twibbon to your Twitter and Facebook profile photos to remind friends and followers every time you tweet/update that WHD is coming up!
+ Watch Beyoncé's PSA video. World Humanitarian Day has a lot of celeb supporters, like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Angelina Jolie, to name a few. Beyoncé is so into the day that she's made a PSA vid to teach more people about it. Check out Blue Ivy's mama as she tells us all about the big day:
+ Share Bey's music video! Beyoncé filmed a music video for "I Was Here" for the campaign and it's gonna debut on Sunday, too. Keep it locked to the WHD website, as well as MTV and MTV.com for the video, and be sure to share it far and wide.
+ Check out orgs you can help. If you want some help finding an org that's a good fit for you, I Was Here has a page of suggested groups, including the United Nations Population Fund, Africa Humanitarian Action and UNICEF. You can find more by taking action below.
