Animal lovers, listen up! We've found your new fave person: Ian Somerhalder. His namesake foundation does all kinds of stuff to make the world a better place, and now he wants to make an animal sanctuary.
A tired Ian apologized on Twitter for not being able to say anything witty, but he did say something very sweet:
Wish I had something witty but I'm zapped;)See you tomorrow USA.Time to get this Animal Sanctuary going. Please help us isfoundation.com/campaign/isf-a…

He has so much going on (like campaigning for the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming film based on the bestselling novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey") so bravo to Ian for deciding to put another project on his plate. The animal sanctuary isn't up and running just yet, but Ian spelled out his vision on his site, saying the Ian Somderhalder Foundation "intends on creating a safe haven for all the outcasted animals that have been neglected, mistreated and ultimately misunderstood . . . What if ISF provided opportunities for these misfits creatures to continue their emotional journey alongside others who were hurting from a life filled with dejection."
We like where this is going. On his website, Ian also lists specific ways he wants to help animals, like fighting animal cruelty and supporting no-kill shelters. In order to get his animal sanctuary plan off the ground, though, he's accepting donations and is trying to raise $5 million. That might sound like a lot (umm, because it IS) but Ian's fans and animal lovers are sure to make it happen. Ian promises to keep us updated on how much money is coming in, and we def want to know as soon as things start happening!
