Kit Harington may be playing the heroic Jon Snow on HBO's "Game of Thrones," but he's going to get his best evil villain on in Dreamworks' upcoming "How To Train Your Dragon 2."
Variety has the news that Harington is in negotiations for the role, though the trade doesn't know much about the movie's villain. He'll be joining the voice acting talents of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, TJ Miller and Kristen Wiig. And considering writer/director Dean DeBlois is planning for this film to be part two in a trilogy, we have the hope that Harington can stick around for a while.
When DeBlois spoke with THR back in early 2011, he promised that everything about "How To Train Your Dragon 2" is going to be more epic than its predecessor.
"We are treating 'How To Train Your Dragon' as the first act in a much larger story," he teased. "As we head into this one, the world expands. Everything is much bigger with still the heartfelt qualities that made the first one resonate so much with audiences. There are no longer restrictions to this tiny island in the North Sea. They have the entire Northern hemisphere within their grasp."
This is just the latest in a series of film roles Harington has landed since he broke onto the scene last year in "Game of Thrones." Up next, fans can see him in "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D," but we're more excited about his fantasy movie "The Seventh Son" that he stars in opposite Jeff Bridges. Of course, we also love that his inclusion in "How To Train Your Dragon 2" will bring him closer to dragons than he's going to be any time soon in "Game of Thrones."
