Christina Aguilera isn't filming "The Voice" right now but she's definitely keeping herself busy. Xtina has signed up to be an ambassador for Rock the Vote, a non-partisan group encouraging everyone to get out there and vote, come November 6.
The sultry songstress tweeted the following impassioned tweet:
It takes just 1 vote to make a diff & shape OUR Future. Make the choice-Register to VOTE now! scantovote.org #scantovote @rockthevote
— Christina Aguilera (@TheRealXtina) June 15, 2012
Rock The Vote has info on the election (and neat tidbits like the fact there are over 44 million eligible young voters this year). It can also help you get registered -- with your phone! Text "vote" (or "vota" if you want your texts in Spanish) to 788683 and you'll get voter registration and reminders for Election Day, plus fun bonus stuff like polls and mobilization alerts.
This isn't Christina's first time getting down to work with Rock the Vote, so you know it's an important group for her. Who here remembers the awesome PSA she made for Rock the Vote in 2008, where she sings "America the Beautiful" to her newborn baby Max? To make it all the more fitting, little Max was wrapped up in an American flag. Too cute! You can watch it below.
We're sure to hear more about the importance of voting from Christina and other Rock the Vote 2012 Ambassadors, like Ke$ha, Keri Hilson and Kat Graham. And we at MTV always encourage you to check out Power of 12, our own election site that can help you learn the facts about voting, the candidates, post pics and this summer, play a fantasy election game. Happy voting!
