The first son of rock 'n' roll and reality TV, Jack Osbourne, has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The news comes just weeks after the birth of his daughter Pearl Clementine.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease that attacks the brain and central nervous system. It affects people's vision, strength, speech, and coordination, at varying levels depending on the individual.
Jack is determined to stay healthy and to raise public awareness about MS which, according to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, affects an estimated 2,500,000 people around the world. In an interview with Britain's Hello! Magazine, Jack shared his optimism: "I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realized being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point -- if anything it's only going to make it worse…adapt and overcome is my new motto." Jack's reality TV past and willingness to share his life with the world make him the perfect candidate to shed some light on MS.
