Can you imagine an AIDS-free generation by 2015? That's the goal of the (RED) RUSH TO ZERO campaign. Every day 1,000 babies are born with HIV, passed down to them from their mothers, and with education that number can drop down big time.
From June 1 to 10, the campaign is giving you ten things to do in ten days! Like the (RED) RUSH Games, where people will be globally playing one another and donations go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Even celebs are going to be playing games, so you might be playing with someone like Kris Allen or Michelle Rodriguez.
Then there's the (RED) MUSIC. Artists like Coldplay, Sheryl Crow and Death Cab for Cutie are putting together an auction with stuff like exclusive packages and killer seats at their concerts. Plus, there will be live music events in places like Chicago, New York and Seattle. (RED) is even putting out an album and they're giving you a taste with their first single, released June 1 -- a cool remake of Fela Kuti's "Lady" by Angelique Kidjo, tUnE-yArDs, Akua Naru and Ahmir Questlove Thompson.
A group of women are also going to be making their way around Europe for the (RED) Tour, fundraising and spreading the word. At the end, they'll also be putting up an auction and proceeds here will go (yup) to the Global Fund.
You might also be seeing red June 1 -10 because of the products (RED) is rolling out. You can get things like (RED) iPods or (RED) headphones and know part of the money from your purchase is going to a good cause. 10 things to fight AIDS in 10 days? We're in!
