With the trailer for "Django Unchained" only days away (it's premiering before "Prometheus" in theaters), we're being treated to a deluge of new images to get us hyped for Quentin Tarantino's latest. These new pictures give us plenty of Django, as well as the character played by Christoph Waltz.
Everything we've heard about the footage from "Django Unchained" that was shown as Cannes has led us to believe that Waltz is in top form for this flick. It's exciting to see his reunion with Tarantino on the big screen, especially since the duo helped set a new level of evil with Waltz's turn as Colonel Hans Landa in "Inglourious Basterds." Based on these new pictures, Waltz and Tarantino don't look to disappoint.
With the awesome cast compiled to make this movie, it's easy to lose sight of the man playing its titular character. But Jamie Foxx is front and center in these images, whether he's facing off against villainous Leonardo DiCaprio or trekking cross-country on horseback with Waltz. Considering we haven't seen much of him in recent years, barring secondary roles in comedies like "Horrible Bosses" and "Due Date," we're excited to see him back in a leading man role.
"Django Unchained" follows the titular character, a freed slave, who is trying to save his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). He turns to German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz) to help him rescue his wife from evil plantation owner Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). It's due in theaters on December 25.
